Message from the manager (Sam):
Sad news my friends. I am leaving dA. Permanantly.
So... as a result, I will no longer be managing the da-library.
Yes, sadness it is.
So anyways, the news is that I'm leaving, but before I go I want to make sure that da-library is in good hands! I mean we've still got Christin as a manger, but the da-library's an awful lot of work to upload onto just one person. So I'm opening up 2 new managerial positions!
If you're interested in becoming a da-library manager, please just send me (=pigeonpyro) a note and we can discuss it and whatnot.
The da-library takes quite a bit of time, so make sure that your schedule will allow you to spend an hour or two on the da-library every few days!
Also, once you are manager and I'm gone, you have absolutely no obligation to keep things as they are. Feel free to make your own rules and change the way we operate things! I don't mind just as long as this club doesn't die.
It would break my heart is the club closed. I love all the members here! Even if I don't know them all personally, I always read their work (even if I don't comment) and it makes me so happy when people comment and fave their work! You're all like my CHILDREN! will miss you all...
But yes that is the news for today, so please if you're interested in becoming a manager just send me a note (to my account, NOT the da-library) saying why you wanna become a manager and why you think you're qualified!
Again, I will miss all you guys, and I hope that you'll miss me too...

*wipes sweat off brow* Wowee there was alot of work to do on da-library when I got on this afternoon! That could be because I hadn't been on in a week and half... but seriously, 27 notes!?!?!? Gimme a break! Lol! No, seriously, I want to apologize for my seeming lack of activity on here, but really, ever since school's started, I've been really pressed for time! Not to mention stressed out and tired... Not I'm not trying to make excuses for ignoring you, I'm just apologizing and letting you know how I stand at the moment.

Also, due to this spurt in member activity and submissions, I'm afraid to say that I have decided to impose a new rule unto the club memebers. And that rule is that you may only submit 3 deviations per week! I'm sorry I had to put a limitation on you guys, but without that limit there, there's no way I'd be able to handle all the submissions.

Also, I'm very sorry to say, but I probably will only be able to update abd work on the da-library on weekends! But never fear, no note or comment will ever be ignored as long as I'm manager!

In other news, I'm in the process of creating a new page on the da-library, an FAQ page where... well... I'll put frequently asked questions and the answers to them! That's still under construction though! As is the whole next contest! I know I promisesd you guys one soon, and I really did meant to have it all prepared for you, but unfortunately, time doesn't seem to be on my side these days!

Ooh, also our first birthday is coming up on September 19th, which also conveniently happens to be International Talk Like A Pirate Day! (NO JOKE!!!!) So maybe will have some piratey themed festivites and whatnot! Now, who's bringing the cake??? Don' mek me mek yehs swab teh deck yeh landlubbin' goatherder! Lol! *is hyper*

Wow, I feel terrible! I haven't updated the da-library in so long! (Exactly a month actually!) I'M A BAD PERSON!!!! But anyways, just wanted to let you all know that I'm not dead and I arrived back from my vacation safely and all that good stuff! A special thanks goes out to Christin, ~Twizz3985, for making sure that nothing went haywire while I was away! I see that we have about A DOZEN new members that I have not yet met so I must make it a point to become acquainted with them and there work!
In other news, you should all keep your creative juices flowing as the da-library will soon be having a contest! How soon I can't really say, but soon enough! Anyways I suppose that's really all I have to say at the moment, but "welcome" to all our new members and "nice to see you're still around" to all our old ones!

Ok, well this is just a quick little update to aplogize for not updating in so long, but there really hasn't been too much activity in the da-library to report about!
But I'd like to point out that we have quite a few new members that need some welcoming... Would do it meself but... well... Ok so I don't actually HAVE a an excuse but... be quiet! Lol!! I love you all really!
Anyways, um... ooh, the next contest, unfortunately, will probably not be until the end of August as I will soon be leaving to spend two luxurious weeks with the love of my life and will on not be able to handle anything at the da-library as I have feelings that I'll be a bit pre-occupied! *winks profusely* So yeah, I will be gone August 8th to August 23rd, but Christin will be able to handle things while I'm gone! And school for me starts on August 31st, but I'll still be able to maintain and update the da-library like usual!
Just another little friendly reminder to the members to please take some time out of their day to read and comment on the work of other members! Thanks!!!
I really do think that's about it for now, so I hope you're all having a wonderful summer! (Or winter depending on what hemisphere you're in! )

There's quite a bit of news to cover this time, so I suppose I might as well get started.

First off, our dearest friend and founding manager Charlie, =silverdragon7, is no longer with us. He has left deviantART for good and placed the club completely in my hands. He is still isted as our founding manager and his works is still displayed in our gallery and can be found on his personal deviantart page still. Also if you would like to contact him at all, his contact details are in his last journal on his page.

Surprisingly, so soon after Charlie has left us, a new manager was appointed, so everyone please welcome Christin, ~Twizz3985, as our new co-manager of the da-library!! Please show her the proper respect and be patient as she learns all the rules and ways of the da-library.

Also, a new member has been promoted to a Senior Membership, congratulations to ~Shivarra on her new rank! ~Shivarra hasn't been with us as long as some members, but she certainly has left a mark on our club. Never shy to submit her poetry and always taking time out to ead and comment on the work of other members, she definitely deserves our appreciation!

As most of you are aware of, the da-library haiku contest ends tomorrow, so today is the LAST DAY for you to get your contest votes in and I encourage you to vote if you haven't already done so. Every little bit helps, and everyone's input is valued so please do take the time to vote! To vote, just send us a note with the title of the haiku you're voting for and the name of the writer!

A new contest is already being thought out, but if anyone has any suggestions for a contest, please don't hesitate to let them be known. Or if anyone has any ideas for better prizes for the winners. The da-library doesn't really have any funds, so we obviosuly can't give away subscriptions or anything, but if you can think of something that you think the members would enjoy as a prize, please let me know!

Contest voting begins now...
Well, just as it says above, the voting for the contest begins today and it will carry on until July 13th. Now this is supposed to be a confidential poll, meaning that who voted for who will remain a secret (except to the managers of course! *evil grin*), so to vote for a certain haiku you will need to send a note to the da-library saying which poem you are voting for. Voting is not restricted to members only, so please do tell your friends about it! You may only vote ONCE and you may not vote for YOURSELF! The entries are listed below, so please take the time to read them and vote for whichever one you think is best!

*sigh* First off I'd like to begin by apologizing to everyone for semi-abandoning you in the middle of a contest... I just haven't really been feeling emotionally on mentally well and acutally disappeared from deviantART altogeth in an attempt to clear my head. I can't say that it worked, but it did make me watch ALOT of tv! Anyways, I really hope you'l all forgive me... but I did leave Charlie in charge while I was away! But of course everything has changed so much since the last time he was completely in charge of the da-library and called me to beg me to come back and take care of things! Lol!!! It's soooooo nice to feel loved! And then he had alot of stuff going on in his life as well and couldn't get online... But fear not my dears for I am back and I will not leave you again until I go on vacation for two weeks in August! I will not be on my own personal dA account, but if you need to get a hold of me, a note to the da-library should suffice! Anyways, if I haven't already said it, I am sorry for leaving you all... Anyways, so I decided it was high time for me to get off my ass and deal with things on here! Especially with the end of the contest so near!! (It officially ends tomorrow at midnight my time! So you have until then to get in any more submissions! ) And now I've decided to never leave you again!! *totally missed everyone* Oh that reminds me... Our dearest friend and member ~renaissancefreak has left us... In fact she had left deviantART altogether and I must profress that we wil miss her satirical poetry greatly! Oh that reminds me, I hope we removed her stuff from the gallery! Oh crud! *puts it on her to-do list* Anwyays, I juts thought I should bring that to everyone's attention. In happier news, we do have quite a few new members which I'd appreciate if you gave them a warm welcome! And we also have a new affiliate, please check them out! Oh yes and our member ~BohemianElectricity is writing a Harry Potter fanfic and is looking for some help on character names (first and last), so if you guys have any ideas or anything, she wouldly greatly appreciate your input! Also I'd just like to once again encourage thge reading and critiquing of other members work on da-library! This is a community and we need to help and support each other! So I'd really appreciate it if you guys could take some time to leave comments on some (it doesn't have to be ALL) of the work submitted to the club! :0 Thanks! ... Well, I do believe that's all I wanted to badger about. Oh wait, don't forget to read the new entries into the contest and start making up your minds as to which one you want tyo vote for! The voting will begin the day after tomorrow and I'll post more information about that tomorrow night.

Hallooo everyone!
This just a message to let you know that the da-library is now holding a haiku writing contest, the detaiuls can be found under the journal heading "Contests". I hope that everyone will particiapte in this event! (Oh yes, and I'm aware the prizes aren't much, but I'm not made of money you know! And beside people should write for thier own spiritual and emotional benefit, not to be rewarded by others!! )

Also, the week I gave before I said I would implement the new policy of submitting the original artist's comments in our deviations is up. Therefore, tonight I will begin going through the club's gallery and adding the artist's comments in. If you would not like your comments to be posted on your submissions, please just send me a note and I will leave yours unaltered!

Well that's it for me! I've still got TONS of works to do tonight, so I'm going to have to bid you all adieu! Hope you're well!!!

I'M NOT DEAD!!!! *laughs like a mad woman* Heh heh, anyways, some of you may have noticed that I'm basically been kinda life-less around here recently, and for that I apologize! I'm a bad person! Lol, anyways! I just wanted to let you all know that I'm not dead, and I have an issure of important in which I wish to address.

If you'll all recall, after the new changes to the da-library's appearance, I posted a question in the opinion polls about whether the da-library should post the artist's comment in our submission of people's work or not? Well the majority of people were all for it, and the majority does rule... So in a week's time (approximately) I will be going through all deviations already posted and add them in ad post them in all new deviations that are posted, HOWEVER, I'm well aware that not everyone was in favor of it, so I'm giving it a week before I do it because I'm them giving time to contact me if they do not wish to have their comments posted on their deviations or for other to go to the Opinion Polls page and voice their opinions on the matter. Ok people, you have a week to say yea or nay on this matter, for if not enough people object then I'm going ahead with it! So don't anyone claim that I didn't give you fair warning!!!

Also there will probably be another contest coming up soon, (I know I said that there would be one AGES ago and then I abandoned you all... ) but I haven't exactly figured out the details of it and am open to any suggestions you guys might have! You know that i do love getting feedback from you guys!!

Anyways, I hope that you're all doing splendidly! And I just want to personally thank everyone who's been submitting work and a huge thank you to all of the members that take the time to look and comment on others members work! I really would love it if more members were more active in the work of other members! I mean, this is a community, so let's please support each other ok?

Hey hey hey everyone!!!! I take it you've all noticed the da-library's new and (hopefully) improved look, yes??? Well I'm not going to pretend it took me forever and a day to do, but I'm not going to pretend it took me an hour or two! (although it probably should have! ) I can't quite remember when I started working on it... I think it was about a week ago though... And surprisingly enough, it was actually quite fun!!!

Anwyays, I just want to explain what all these funky news links above do and whatnot!

Home: Well this is obviously the main page of the journal, it just says what the da-library is and all that, and it'll have the latest news entry and our newest members and all that good stuff!

Members: This is also another pretty obvious one, it's just a list of all of our members!

Affiliates: (*yawn* Maybe I don't need to explain the links! ) This one is a list of all of our affiliates!!

Index Of Submissions: (Yay! One I can actually explain! ) This one is a huge index or directory of all the poetry/prose that our members have submitted to the da-library! It has the name of the work (which is actually a link to the deviation posted by the da-library) and then it says the deviation category afterwards! Pretty neato eh??? Well I can certainly say this was the most time consuming part of the da-library makeover!!! ... Lol, ah, it wasn't too bad really, just long and boring!

News Archive: Well this is just what it says it is, am archive of all da-library news! Well not all of it, but all of it that i still had, which is'nt much at the moment, but from now on every news update will be archived here just in case anyone ever wants to go back and see... um... something there! I dunno, I thought it might be usefull at somepoint!!!

Contest: This one is also pretty obvious! It's just a link to any current or past contest we've held, showing what the details/requirements of it were, a list of winners (with links to the deviaitons and writers) and a list of the other entries that didn't win.

Opinion Polls: Ah, this one is intersting! See, sinc ethe da-library can't do real polls because we don't have a subscription (wow, I had a really strong urge to write that in french! Lol!) and I really do want all our members opinions on certain stuf, I decided to make a page with questions that I want to ask the members and whoever wants to share their opinion with me can just post a comment and do so! Pretty nifty eh???


Anyways, yeah, so that's all that! Ooh, I also made another change (which I doubt anyone noticed... ) and that is... um, you know when a piece is posted in the da-library and we always says somethin like, "Please post all comments and/or mark as a fave on the original posting" and then gave the link in the line below it? Well now that phrase IS the link!!!! *beams at you all* Genius eh???

Well, I'm done with my insane babble, but before I go, I'd just like to personally thank ~thomcomstock and ~original-fictions because, although niether of tehm probably know it, they helped me out a great deal with the cosmetic surgery that the da=library underwent. (~thomcomstock for teaching me how to make alink say what you wanted instead of just: [link] and ~original-fictions for giving me the idea about the submission index and some other sutff!!)

Hello everyone! I agree with Sam that da-library should contain more resources for its members so I'm going to set up a wiki board (a white board) for everyone to use!
