HAIKU CONTEST
The da-library is currently holding a haiku contest. A haiku is style of poetry that was developed by the Japanese, it's a very short poem but has rules. There are two basic types of haikus. The first haiku is three lines long, the first line must only 5 syllables, the second like is 7 syllables and the last line is 5 again. The second is four lines and follows the syllabic pattern of 5-3-5-5 or 5-5-3-5. Haikus are traditionally written about nature, but no such restrictions are being placed on members for this contest. For some examples of haikus (ones not written about nature) you can click here, or here, or here or here. (These haikus were all written by =pigeonpyro previously and she gives her permission for them to be used as examples.)

To enter the contest you must write a haiku and submit it to deviantart and send a note to the da-library letting us know about it so that we may submit it to our gallery. The entry must be written and submitted sometime after Jun 20th and sometime before (or on) July 5th (when the contest ends).

The prizes of this contest are:
1st Place: The "Featured Deviation" spot on the da-library's main page and a month feature in =pigeonpyro's and =silverdragon7's journal.
2nd Place: Two weeks feature in =pigeonpyro's and =silverdragon7's journal.
3rd Place: A week feature in =pigeonpyro's and =silverdragon7's journal.

Winners will be picked by means of a poll. It's viewers (well readers!) choice! :) On July 6th I will be asking members to send the da-library a note saying which haiku they would like to vote for. You will have a week to do this. You may only vote once otherwise your vote will not be counted and you may not vote for yourself (this a community so lets support each other ok?). Also, non-members are allowed ot vote, so you can notify your friends about the contest if you wish.
The winner of the contest will be announced on July 12th! :)

Good luck everyone!!!

Grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change;
Courage to change things I cannot accept;

Because they got on my nerves :mwahaha:
